Kat Dawes first caught my attention during an Agape service, as she vibrantly expressed words of gratitude and inspiration around the brilliant Rev Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith. Soon after that experience, my husband bought her “Time and Space Contract” which is an inspirational guide encouraging living in the present moment in order to manifest dreams. As the creator of NOWism, Kat is a spunky messenger campaigning for an upgrade in the Quality Control Department of our thoughts. She is living her dream life as The Universal Promoter of the Powerful Present Moment!

Watch Kat’s witty, poetic dance as she explains her global Consciousness Campaign and you’ll see why her energy and ideas are so attractive. Then, read on to discover that she too, had fears, doubts, struggles and worries to overcome before she was able to say she Lives Life For A Living.

What struggles did you encounter in order to become successful doing what you love?

“Fear, doubt, lack, loss, worry. A belief in a lack of resources. A belief in my being in the wrong location. A belief in thinking it will all take ‘time’. My largest obstacle was directly related to my ‘making it happen’. Ambition amplifies a hunger ‘to have’, which if left unchecked, brings a focus onto the ‘not having’.”

What people, places or things motivated you to make your dreams come true?

“The motivation changed over time. I come from entertainment, so originally I was attracted to fame and fortune. I wanted to be the best. As I become more committed to my spiritual practise, I realised that something was trying to happen ‘through’ me. That has become my motivation- to unlock and release my life energy in the form of my gift.”

How did you deal with fear, doubt and worry?

“I observe it. Let it happen. I step back from it, and look at it from a broader perspective. I acknowledge the transitory nature of it. This is just one moment. I feel into the vastness of my own being. I feel into my power. And then commit to moving the fear, doubt or worry into a better feeling thought. I won’t move on until I have achieved some sort of softening of the vibration.”

How long did it take you to get to where you are now?

“I am 33. I thought I understood the heart of this wisdom as early as 18. However, you can be reading and listening to the material for a lifetime and not actually practising it. I was thrown into my commitment through a set of ‘negative circumstances’. I was living a gypsy life, in a van, and on my way to a large outdoor festival in Australia, my van broke down. I was in the middle of nowhere on a winters night with no money, no resources (so it seemed) no plan. I went through a series of emotions allowing ‘the story’ to contaminate my NOW with negative emotions. I was sad, angry, annoyed with myself for allowing this to manifest in my life.

Then I started to call on all the things I thought I had learned about spirituality and Law of Attraction into the activity of my awareness. Instead of allowing myself to continue the ride down poor me-ism. I took a VOW to NOW and started an inventory of what was working in my life. I acclimatised in a new place and gave my undivided attention to my wholeness, happiness and success – literally ignoring the ‘reality’ of my situation. To make an epic story a little shorter, within 6 months I was given a car, published my book, went to Tahiti to meet Andy Dooley - (Mike Dooley’s brother), attracted a team that wanted to work for me on my brand NOWism, and found myself on stage with the great Michael Beckwith, giving him a NOWism Consciousness Award in Florida.”

Watch Kat give Michael Beckwith the NOWism Consciousness Award:

Who or what inspires you to stay motivated?

Rev Dr Michael Bernard Beckwith takes first prize here today. The works of Ernest Holmes, Emerson, Florence Scovel Shinn, Abraham-Hicks. I surround myself with as many reminder services as I can. I listen to music. I read something. Write my dream life down on a piece of paper. I write a list of things I am grateful for. I deliberately get enthusiastic and celebratory about something.”

Kat! Your journey is so amazing. Thank you for just being you! While you’re experiences are completely unique, they reflect proof that we all have moments where we feel sorry for ourselves and our situations. You’ve shown us that we can go miles from that sad place in order to find ourselves flying high in a fresh new place of all-our-dreams-come-true, simply by taking control over the thoughts we allow ourselves to process. You are truly an inspiration and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom. And now for an interview within an interview, here’s Kat Dawes talking with Mike Dooley (from The Secret). Thanks again, Kat!
