Sightseeing From The Sky

Picture Yourself Sightseeing From The Sky!

One thing nearly every major city offers is helicopter sightseeing tours, but many people are often afraid of flying in a helicopter because they don’t know what to expect. It doesn’t have to be a scary experience, though.

What experience is to be had from flying in a helicopter?

Helicopters offer sightseeing possibilities that cannot be had any other way. Close-up sky views are hard to come by in any other fashion and the experience offered from a helicopter is truly one-of- a-kind. They offer much higher visibility than any other craft. A helicopter ride should be on everyone’s bucket list. Imagine experiencing your favorite city, not from the ground, but from hundreds of feet up. What a view that would be!

What if I have a fear of flying? How can I overcome it?

Riding in a helicopter is not much different from flying in a plane. Once you’re in the sky, the experience is essentially the same, with a few minor differences. Helicopters tend to be louder, which is why you’ll receive a headset to wear during your flight. They also can have more turbulence, but it’s rare that the turbulence will be enough to cause any serious problems. Take-off in a helicopter is definitely different than in a plane. Instead of that sudden acceleration where you are pressed back into your seat, in a helicopter, the force will push you down. Many people liken the experience to riding in an elevator.

What struggles might I face while dealing with my fear? How will it all be worth it in the end?

Take-off will always be troublesome for first time riders with a fear of flying. The initial bumps of departure can seem scary and unnatural, but once the craft is in the air, the smooth ride and amazing views will overcome any lingering fears.

What examples can you share about others overcoming this fear?

Fear of flying is not uncommon. There are numerous celebrities who have had to overcome their fear of flying. Author Ray Bradbury never got on a plane until the age of 62. Gwen Stefani, singer of No Doubt, used to be afraid of flying, as well. If you have a fear of flying, you are not alone, but you also do not have to let it keep you from experiencing the joys of a helicopter ride.

What are some beautiful moments to be had while flying in a helicopter?

Views from a helicopter are unrivaled by any other mode of sightseeing. Imagine looking down on New York City from above, circling the Statue of Liberty at near eye-level, or soaring over Niagara Falls without a barrel.

Fear of flying is common, but it doesn’t have to hold you back. You can overcome your worries and experience life from the inside of a helicopter as you soar through the sky in a way only birds used to be able to do. Don’t let your fear stop you from experiencing the joys of helicopter sightseeing!
